What is TusCon?
Hello, fellow fans. Welcome to TusCon, Arizona! More specifically, welcome to TusCon 52, our 52nd annual Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror convention in Tuscon… ah, we mean rather Tucson, Arizona. Attendees of TusCon are among the most dedicated fans of science fiction, fantasy, and horror and many attendees are professional writers, film producers, artists, and reporters who keep others informed about the goings-on in the industry.
TusCon is an annual literary-forward convention run by the Baja Arizona Science Fiction Association (BASFA), a Southern Arizona section 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. The primary focus of TusCon is literary science fiction, fantasy, and horror, but we also embrace art, animation, science, media and gaming to provide a well-rounded experience.
Every year, dozens of professional writers, artists, editors, performers, and filmmakers attend the convention. We invite you to attend the convention, especially if you are a fan of reading, writing, gaming, and generally having fun. TusCon isn’t like the big pop-culture conventions. We cap our memberships at 500 to keep it small, comfortable, and intimate.
What else does TusCon offer? Our vendor hall and art show are carefully curated, focusing on original crafts, art, and books. We focus on engaging Panel Discussions where the audience is welcome to contribute to the conversation. Our Gaming room combines tabletop and computer gaming. Our panels range from Author discussions, readings, and how-tos, Science Presentations, Fan-led panels on their favorite scifi, fantasy, or horror topics, A Cosplay Fashion Show, Game Shows you can participate in, and So Much More!!
