Jay Smith: Often thought of as the figment of a fevered mind or the collective delusion of those claiming to have witnessed him in person, Jay Smith is a myth. It is said he once attended TusCon but vanished in the part of the old convention hotel undergoing renovations at the time.

In the years since his disappearance, Jay has been sighted by convention goers begging for beer or lurking near the Green Room harassing its various guests while also begging for beer. Despite mounting evidence, the Ghost of Jay Smith has not been confirmed by traditional methods. Attempts have been made to lure in him into panel discussion with pints of draft lager. Entire six packs have been left in the lobby overnight in the hope of capturing his image on video, but to no avail.

This is a pity as Jay has written a lot of speculative fiction, produced many podcasts, and created new audio drama shows – all of which are relevant to the TusCon convention. If you speak his name three times near the beer taps at at the hotel bar or a nearby cantina, you may be the first to raise his spirit. If so, contact security immediately.
