About TusCon

TusCon is an annual science fiction convention sponsored by the Baja Arizona Science Fiction Association (BASFA), a Southern Arizona section 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. The primary focus of TusCon is science fiction, fantasy and horror, but we also pay attention to art, animation, science, media and gaming.

Every year, dozens of professional writers, artists, editors, performers, and filmmakers attend the convention. We invite you to attend the convention, especially if you are a fan of reading, writing, gaming, and generally having fun. Besides, we have a Cookie Fairy in our ConSuite.

What else does TusCon 43 offer? How about an Art Show & Artist Alley, Panel Discussions, Vendors Room, Gaming, Anime Room, Round-the-Clock Video Room, Q&A with Film Makers, Science Presentations, Masquerade / Cosplay, Live Performances, Learn from The Pros, and So Much More!!

TusCon attracts between 300 to 500 attendees each year. Our attendees are an eclectic and diverse bunch, ranging from pre-teens to senior citizens. Income and education levels for TusCon attendees vary widely. The common denominator is a love for the written word, especially fantasy and science fiction.

Welcome to TusCon 43

Hello, fellow fans. Welcome to TusCon, Arizona! More specifically, welcome to TusCon 43, our 43rd annual Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror convention in Tuscon... ah, we mean rather Tucson, Arizona. Attendees of TusCon are among the most dedicated fans of science fiction, fantasy, and horror and many attendees are professional writers, film producers, artists, and reporters who keep others informed about the goings on in the industry.

This coming year our Author Guest of Honor is George R.R. Martin, author of the international bestselling series of epic fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire which was adapted for cable television by HBO as “Game of Thrones”.

Our Artist Guest of Honor is Peri Charlifu, an artist of over 30 years who has won dozens of awards and is founder and guild master of the Arts and Artisans of Colorado guild.

Our Special Media Guest is Master of Horror writer/ director/ producer/ actor William Malone, who in addition to being one of the most creative horror visionaries is also the foremost authority/ collector of the 1956 landmark sci-fi film “Forbidden Planet”.

Our Special Guest is Geoff Notkin star of the multi-award-winning television series Meteorite Men for Science Channel and a host of the STEM Journals for Cox Media.

And our Toastmaster is the ever humble, and popular, Ed Bryant who is best known as a multi-award-winning author of horror & science fiction.

TusCon 43 will be held November 11th-November 13th 2016 at our new location the Radisson Hotel Tucson Airport in Tucson, Arizona. This is a new hotel for us, but rest assured they have all the amenities you have come to expect at TusCon. The hotel offers a FREE Full Buffet Hot Breakfast, FREE Wi-Fi, FREE parking, Guest Laundry, Cocktail Hour, Pet-Friendly (subject to availability upon request), and the Hotel is accessible to individuals with disabilities!

Please make sure to register early; we like to keep this convention small and intimate so that everyone has a chance to interact with our amazing guest authors, artists, and panelists. Attendance is limited to 500 registered attendees annually.

At TusCon, we do things a little differently. We have a relaxed, friendly atmosphere surrounding three days of fascinating events and up close and personal discussions with some of today’s finest Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror creators.
